BloKarting: Double Trouble

BloKarting at Bruce Pullman Park

BloKarting at Bruce Pullman Park

Want to blokart without the muss and fuss of sand and worrying about the tides and wind direction? Concerned you need a harder surface than sand for blokarting given your weight?

We’ve discovered a new BloKarting venue and I’ve seen a gentleman who was a good 300 lbs zipping along happily with good wind and the hard surface.

The Man and 8 year-old Man, Jr went blokarting at Bruce Pullman Park in Papakura. BlownAway blokart hire and sales sets up in the parking lot on Sundays with decent wind.

Costs are $20/15 minutes with $5 extra for a sidecar. The sidecar worked out well for Man, Jr, as he could have some fun controlling the cart with hands-on adult supervision.

Blokarting Helmet

Blokarting Helmet Fashion Chic

For this adventure I volunteered to be the official photographer and videographer. Someone had to do it given the funky mohawk style helmets issued with blokart hire. Downside, the cafeteria lady hairnet you are given to wear with the helmet detracts significantly from the coolness. Nothing like Heavy Metal meets Lunch Lady to reduce your street cred.

The Auckland BloKart Club has fun days and informal races on Sundays so you can meet other blokarting enthusiasts.
